Hello;
I have XP pro installed on my computer. Some how I picked up am
apparent virus. When I finally got to the root of the dog it had
destroyed files in my Help nad Support as well as my system restore. I
have tried to find them but when I hit System restore the only thing
that happens is the window opens up with a larger white screen with a
blue border on top that says system restore and that's it it just sits
there. WHen I try to do a search I click on search the little dog walks
out on the search screen and sits there and wags its tail and thats it.
I tried to do an re-install but the message comes back that it can't
re-install because of the service pack 2 is installed. My questions are
as follows
1) If I delete service pack 2 update could I then do re-install. ?
2) If I bought another XP Pro with all the proper EULA and COD's off
ebay would I have to delete XP altogether or could I install over the
existing installation. ?
I have been scouring the internet XP forums for about a month now and
at my wits end.
If there is a simpler fix I would love to hear from someone.
Thanks
