Sorry to post here but this is by far the best forum!

I'm unable to play CS with my router on, have no lag at all but it breaks all the time. Try to search everywhere but no answers. I have a SMC7004VWBR and a broadband cabble 4Mbps connection. when I turn the router off and connect directly to the net it works fine!

Didn't post in networking because I always post here and have better feed back! Thanks in advance!

Have you tried forwarding the correct ports that CS uses to your PC from your router. There should be a port forwarding feature somewhere in your router.

HEY! This isn't a Graphics Question!

Oh ok, you're contrite that's cool

I have the same router (<A HREF="http://img483.imageshack.us/img483/8538/router5pk.jpg" target="_new">see pic</A>), one of 2 wireless plus one Nortel commercial VPN router on at the DSL connection (so I can access work from home locked-up tight), and you need to set your ports up in the advanced section NAT firewall settings under <A HREF="http://img483.imageshack.us/img483/8371/settings7sg.jpg" target="_new">special applications</A>. You can anable/disable them as needed (for gaming, BitTorrent, etc). You can even mix/match them depending on your needs (my ISP does some interesting things with blocking the torrent port hence some variability in the same field)

Check the manual (either that came with it or online) to walk you through it step by step, of course first you have to find out what port CS's expecting you to use/enable before you make any changes.

Forum's laggy!

Posted the above and couldn't get access to the forum for a while. I thought I'd messed with someting in my router settings without knowing it, but I could surf all other sites no problem.

Damn I miss the 802.11A on the Dell (hence the reason for returning to the SMC for wireless duties).
