APs capable of Infrastructure AND repeater mode simultaneo..

Hi

I'm wondering if there are any APs on the market which can operate in
both infrastructure (access point) mode AND bridging/repeating mode
simultaneously.

I want to extend wireless within a building, so as I understand it this
is what I'd have :

AP1 - connects to wired network and operates in repeater mode to send
data to remote AP wirelessly

AP2 - connects to AP1 wirelessly in repeater mode but also acts as AP
for mobile user

With the APs I have experience with (Symbol, Linksys) the AP has to
operate in one mode or the other which would mean I'd need a third AP
connected with a crossover cable to the second.

If 'multi-mode' APs exist, please can you suggest some examples.

Any Unit that supports WDS will do the trick. That is what it is designed
for.

D-Link's DWL-2100AP, in repeater mode would do the job too. You can
find them for under $100.
