And no those are not micro switches, they're leaf switches.

....and they're definitely not hall effect sticks for I, robot...

They are Gauntlet sticks. I do have 2 NOS hall effect sticks though for
Escape From The Planet Of The Robot Monsters.. :)

talking about hall effect joysticks - it seems that a bit is missing
from my road runner joystick, which I understand is hall effect as well.
- there's a tubular thing that sits in the white plastic - one is there,
one is missing (thats if you have any idea what I'm on about!!)

does anyone have spares for these ?

You might luck out and find someone with a stash of old NOS parts... Keep
an eye on EBay for a spare "parts" stick and grab it.
