does anyone know how to sort it so i can download newsgroups via outlook
express?
i know where to go but i get stuck on the bit when it asks you to put the
server number or address?

Best way to get there from here is to contact your ISP (Internet Service
Provider). In most cases, it's very similar to you e-mail account set-up.
EG: Your e-mail might read something like incoming.mail.verizon.net,
and outgoing.mail.verizon.net (this is hypothetical, but close). By the
same token, your news server will likely be something very similar, as in
"news.verizon.net". You'll then be prompted to download a list of the
available groups on your server.
There is very likely a 'help' file that deals specifically with this set-up proceedure
that will be located off of a link on your ISP's home page... if not, a phone call
to customer service will get you walked through the proceedure.
