Netgear 834G wireless station access problem

Has anyone with this modem/router/wireless (and the latest firmware) had a
problem with the wireless station access element? It all works fine however
if I select the only mobile device on the system via the mac address as soon
as I hit apply settings the laptop loses connections and can't get network
access.

Any ideas?
