XP Pro slows after SP 1

Hi. I have Windows XP Pro. I installed the Service Pack 1, and now my computer seems to be running slower. Has anybody else had a similar problem?
Here is my system:
AMD Athlon XP 2400+
Asus A7N8X Deluxe
Corsair 512 MB DDR 400
Antec 1080 AMG Case
Western Digital 80 GB w/8 MB Buffer
Seagate 20 GB
Plexwriter 48x24x48
GeForce 4 Ti 4200

Nope. Try a system restore to before you installed SP1 and see if the speed issue remains. Otherwise - format and do a clean install.

well after using xp pro for 18 months now i finally installed sp1 last weekend. it takes longer to fire up and i'm sure it's slower(i've reformatted at least twice in the last 18mths, last 1 only a few mths ago)i'm going to see how it is later on. maybe it works better when installed directly after installing xp. trouble is new mobo drivers ask for xp sp1
