We had some heavy rain where I live...rianed non-stop for about 3
days.

I was flooded in June because of heavy rains....I tohught everything
was dried up....but when I got home, I was told my basement had minor
flooding.

Its good to have games on leg stands at least 1/2 inch....now I can
just leave them and move them out of the way without worrying about
any damage....

After the bad floods that we had in PA last year, I made a platform out
of 4x4s and plywood to raise the games that I have in storage 4" off of
the garage floor.

I had a very close call about a month ago. I was minutes away from going
out of town for over a week. For some reason I decided to do a quick load
of laundry before leaving. As soon as the Washer started filling with hot
water my Water heater started leaking really bad. It started to flood the
floor of my garage which has over 25 arcade games in it. I have outdoor
carpeting in my garage so the water was absorbed before it reached any of my
games. If I hadn't decided to put some laundry in at the last minute, I
would have been pretty sorry when I got back from my trip. I drained the
tank and had a plumber remove the water supply pipe to the tank. When I got
back I immediately got a brand new Bradford White water heater. That was
too close. Moral of the story is, if you have a water heater near any of
your games, be sure to inspect it every now and then.

I know that's kinda petty when compared to the damage from Katrina, but it's
nice to count your good fortunes once in a while.

Matt

Why not just put them up on pallets? If you keep your eyes open, you
can find places that get rid of them for free.

My setup:

Again, this is the garage storage area where I keep my game stuff.

Redecorate the basement with a bunker motif and use sandbags to keep
the water out.
