At this past weekend's auction in Columbus, I grabbed a box of PCBs for
$10.00. Several Pole Positions, a Bally/Midway Galaxy Ranger laserdisc
PCB, a Rough Ranger, a few other interesting things.

But I'm having trouble ID'ing a Sega/Gremlin board.

The parts numbers from the PCBs (two connected with ribbon cables) are
834-0069 and 834-0068. I checked through the Sega/Gremlin manuals I
own, and those part numbers do not match up with Frogger, Turbo,
Invinco/Head On 2, Astro Fighter, Space Tactics, Space Firebird,
Zaxxon, or Tac/Scan.

I checked the an online manuals website, and was able to rule out
Digger, Monaco GP, and Pulsar - again, because the part numbers don't
correspond.

That narrows down the pool of possible titles it could
be... Carnival, Eliminator, Space Odyssey, Moon Cresta, Super Moon
Cresta, or Astro Blaster.

The only other "clue" I have is that several chips are labeled as
"EPR-606" through "EPR-610". The only "E" title Gremlin/Sega
released during this era was Eliminator, but I'm not sure what the "PR"
would stand for.

Can anybody help me out and tell me what I have here?

834-0068 and 834-0069 are Frogger boards, also EPR-606, and 607 are the
character roms and 608-610 are the sound board roms.

That's Frogger. All the SEGA games have EPR-xxx on their EPROM labels.... Have you figured out what "EPR" stands for yet? ;-)

Well, it turns out I have a working Frogger PCB! I plugged it into my
Time Pilot cabinet last night, and it booted up just fine.

I initially thought it wasn't Frogger, because my Frogger manual shows
a PCB part number of 834-0086, instead of 834-0068 as is printed on the
board.

And I feel silly for not thinking that EPR stood for EPROM - sometimes
the most obvious answer is right in front of one's face...
