Help picking between 2 laptops

I am looking at a new laptop. My max price is $600. I have found 2 that seem good, but was wondering if one is definitely better than the other. I would be playing the Sims 2 or 3 on it, but that is about the extent of my gaming. Otherwise I watch a lot of videos online.

From what I am gathering, it seems like the HP would have better graphics but the Asus has a faster processor? But would this really be a huge concern when I only play the Sims? Or would it function just as well on the Asus? And if it would function just as well on the Asus, should I get the Asus because it would be faster? Any help welcome. Both laptops are $600 and seem very comparable they just have different processors and the Asus' just has UMA graphics I think it means it doesn't have a graphics card attached.

  1. That's pretty much exactly the problem. The i5's graphics will likely struggle with the Sims 3, but will do fine with the second one. UMA just means it's using onboard graphics.
  2. The HP ENVY's processor is a bit slower than the ASUS, but it is completely irrelevant when the ENVY has the 7660G GPU versus the HD4000.

The HP ENVY will vastly outperform the ASUS laptop.
  3. Thanks for the help. I was thinking that the HP would do more of what I wanted, but when I went into Best Buy the guy seemed to just rattle off generic statements.
