Configure wireless settings from the command line on XP

Did your wireless card not come with it's own configuration utility?

Hi Doug,

Yes I think some of the cards came with various configuration GUI's
but I am trying to develop a consistant way of setting up a wireless
configuration for a variety of laptops and wireless cards (some on
board & some PCMCIA).

I was hoping someone might know of a utility along the lines of
ipconfig.exe or net.exe etc. but maybe that is a little too
optimistic.

I did note that XP SP2 has some kind of 'Improved wireless
configuration' tool so I will investigate that also.

I think the XP SP2 is ALL you are going to get. MS seems to want to protect
us from having access to the API's or other methods for solving the problem
you mention. Batch files or Windows Scripting Host access would make too
much sense. You might by accident have an easy way to walk users through to
joining your network if they allowed you that kind of access.

SP2 will help, but it is not what you would really like.
