I have one that I have tried to fix unsuccessfully with my mediocre vid
skills. It keeps blowing the fuse and I just Give Up.

Contact me with what you have - I can paypal immediately (and will send you
mine in exchange as long as the price reduces accordingly - I have already
replaced: HOT, Flyback, Cap Kit)

LASTLY - Will an 8Liners Chasis work? I see info on those that LOOKS like it
will work. It will be going into a Mame machine running an ArcadeVGA card...

That looks like a cap problem. Have you done a cap kit?

Yep. In fact I ordered another cap kit and changed out the ones people
suggested as possible bad caps. I wish I had another tube I could test the
chassis with. I believe someone once mentioned it could be the yoke. Having
access to a scope (and knowing how to use one) would really help me :)

I have bought cap kits beforehand from supposed 'reputable and loved'
resources. The kit did not fix the problem whatsoever. I would have
replaced every single cap if it werent' for the help of Rob Carroll
which pointed out the exact cap not covered in the cap kit.
So you may want to examine just which caps you've replaced before
moving beyond that point.
Through the last few years I've had a couple people suggest a 'shorted
tube'. I've run across two of these supposed bad tubes. Not sure
what can cause an actual tube to go bad as I don't know much about
their internals. I do know that monitor repair guys are a much sought
after resource and there are many theives that ask for your chassis,
then never send it back. So be cautious.

Cap kits don't fix all problems. I wouldn't blame the seller of the cap kit
for the fact that your monitor had some other kind of problem.

Cap kits do fix most problems, if they are complete. The problem was
another capacitor on the monitor chassis that was not covered by the
cap kit. It was not another or different problem. It was a bad
capacitor that was not replaced. Not blaming a seller, just saying
that it still may be a bad cap.

Well, I don't know of anyone that makes "complete" cap kits. They're pretty
much all the same from zanen to bob roberts, to happs. I just thought that
the reference to the "supposed reputable and loved" sellers implied that
they weren't because they didn't include every possible cap.

yea it was a jab. But your right I guess. I haven't found one
supplier that has ALL caps in their cap kit. Honestly their all aged
at the same rate and should ALL be replaced if your going to go
through the effort of replacing most all.

They all age the same, but they don't all wear the same. Some caps get more
of a workout than others. Many of these monitors failed back in the day,
and needed to have caps replaced.
