I have windows 7 installed on 2 separate hard drives. I'm trying to format the other hard drive to whipe it out and when i go to my computer and right click on the hard drive and format it says error. When I righy click on My Computer manage, and try to format it through disk management it says error.

Then I downloaded the Wester Digital Data Lifeguard Diagnostics and ran the quick test and it passed, then I tried writing Zero's to it and it said error continue and everytime i clicked continue a new error popped up. I'm baffled...

The Hard Drive is a 3000hlfs300 gb Wester Digital Veliciraptor.

Very strange, can you browse the drive in explorer, also, have you run a chkdsk on it from within windows to check for errors, it could be an issue because there is a Windows Installation on the HDD, Have you tried formating it from the recovery console using win 7 dvd

I'll try using the installation dvd, i'm not familiar with chkdsk. Is that in run? chkdsk.exe?
