Hi All,
I am looking for some help on creating an arcade cab from scratch. I
have an old beat up cab / test rig that i use for my gaming currently
and I switch boards out as I see fit when it is time to play something
different for a while. Problem is - I dont like this idea. I also
dont like the idea of MAME. I want to put my games in a dedicated cab.
SO.. this is my dilema. I have done some rough searchs throught google
and really all I can come up with is how to build a MAME Cab from
scratch - now this wouldnt be so bad if it wasnt for the fact that
everything is customed to work with a pc.
I want a very authentic arcade look and feel.
SO - Where is the best places to get monitors? Do I need a flyback
transformer? Could i just go buy a monitor, switching power supply,
controllers, wire harness', and coin door from happ controls and slap
it into a box and be good?
Any input and or starting points would be great - I am even willing to
do heavy reading as long as it would pertain to my situation. I am
looking to make cabs out of some early/mid 90's games, TMNT, NBA JAM,
MK MK2, Street Figure Series, Lethal Enforcers stuff like that.

Go to Bob Roberts site and read his article "I wanna build a game".
It covers most of the A/C wiring and some of the other basics. Then
read his "What to do with your new JAMMA harness" for the DC and
controls.
Best,
