Hello,
I am trying to add back the Games and Accessories to my computer which seem
to have disappeared after I cleaned out my computer using a spyware program
or reinstalling Internet Explorer. The programs are still on my computer (for
example, freecell and msheart and the others are in "C:/Windows/LastGood" )
but they all have dissappeared from the "Start" - "Programs" area. When I try
to add back the Games and Acessories from "Add or Remove Programs", a prompt
appears asking for a Microsoft CD which I do not have. Any suggestions? Your
help is very appreciated.

With much thanks,
Vic

Hi,

If your system came preinstalled, you likely have an I386 folder on the hard
drive for these purposes, but the sourcepath entries in the registry need to
be changed to point to it. You will find instructions here:
http://rickrogers.org/fixes.htm#I386

As to the missing folder, you can right click the start button and choose
"explore all users", then go to this folder:

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs

See if there is a "games" subfolder, if there isn't then click file/new
folder and recreate it. Then double click it. Once in here, create new
shortcuts to the game executables.
