I have the creative geforce 256 annihilator pro 32mb DDRAM and I take very few fps in games(at 800x600x32 20-24fps). Who knows why? My PC includes PIII 733mhz 64mb 133mhz RAM.
i use detonator 3 drivers without big differents. my motherboard is AMR P6BAT-A+ with chipset ELITE ET82C693A/596B.
I have windows98 second edition
Thanx in advance.

Have you downloaded the AGP drivers from your motherboard chipset manufacturer? Also turn on video BIOS caching in the BIOS setup.

Good luck

Same graphics card...
At 1024x768x32 I get up to 100 fps playing HalfLife TF 1.5

I'm using Creative's drivers, didn't like the NVidia ones.
I built my pc with 128mb ram, upgraded to 256mb and had a good increase in frame rate. And I don't use the cache file anymore either :)

More ram might be a good place to start...

what you need is more ram indeed 64mb on current games in high resolutions can put a strain on overal performance. i.e. the graphic card is hampered in delivering its full potential. Disk swapping is most likely the cause of sloppy framerates in newer games.

but then again it may just be a driver issue...

I agree with the ram issue. You should have at least 128. Then if the problem persists look to drivers etc.

You should read the memory forum section under the 3 posts titled "basic knowledge 1, 2 and then 3"

By right you should be experincing 1280*1024 16bit all high at avg 110 fps. Assuming your monitor can support this.

For game playing also go for high resolution before high color bit, because you can see more from the sides = see the enemy come at you sooner !

If only my mon support 1600*1200, I would use it before chaning to 32bit color. I would also love 32bit color, but I know my system is not capcble.

Use the latest creative driver version 6.34 instead of the Detanator3. As well as other latest drivers, always upgrade them.

Best regards

you also need to post what game it is that you're getting these results with.

but you should try knocking the color from 32bit color to 16bit. i think you should notice a substantial difference in fps with little difference in picture quality.
