i want to know what a directx actually is & what it does in gaming? How the DIRECTX 10/11 a considered great? It would be great if i get a VIDEO PROOF regarding its effects

DirectX is really just an interface to send instructions to the video card. DirectX9 was the first rally decent version of DirectX, as it was re-written. DirectX 10 and 11 are just evolutionary steps past 9. Each one adds additional flexibility and sometimes efficiency.

There is no real "video proof" other than getting a dx10/11 game and looking at the difference.

But all comparisons will be apples and oranges since it's not DirectX that makes the difference, but the programmers who make whichever game you're testing.

I googled about it before posting this query, but actually i hear nowadays that people ask that IS THAT GRAPHICS CARD DIRECTX 10 compatible??? so i wanted to know if the DIRECTX version also affects the gaming (coz whenver i install a new game it asks me for updating directx)? If yes then to what extent? Are there any graphics card being made specially for the newer DIRECTX???
