your budgets high for your standards haha

300-400 dollar laptops nowadays could easily fulfill your needs
you could just spend the spare money on an SSD

and since youre not gaming that saves a lot of money in your pocket
i cant recommend a specfic laptop but i recommend not spending 800-1000 on a system if you dont need to

look please don't shoot me but maybe this might be a fun idea? goes for 1000$ as well, packed with and i5 and the latest in intels hd graphics, plus its just cool. Though if you plan on doing some intensive video editing it might not be the best choice? i could be wrong just thought id throw the idea out there.

You're right i am overkill at my price. I suppose i am just being optomistic that i would get more into video editing if I had a decent computer to do it on.
