Background distortion

I keep getting distortion on the pages on view such as backgrund not completely filled or text with lines running through words. Not the whole page but just a couple of different spots. My system is a PIII 650, MB 4440BX P3b-F, 128memory, GForce 256 DDR, Viewsonic A70 monitor. current settings on display 1024x768, refresh rate of 60mz, color palette high color 16. This bug is driving me crazy, I just want a undistorted picture. Any suggestion would be great.

Might be that your on 16 bit color. Why the heck are you on 16 bit when you have a 32bit capable card? TURN ON 32 BIT!

Grizely, change to the 32 bit and seem to fix the line problem but their still seems to be a little distortion in some of the text fields. Any thoughts on the refresh rate?
