No... nothing was hacked...

If tomshardware.com wanted to, they could create a DNS entry called microsoft.com.tomshardware.com or apple.sux.tomshardware.com. The domain is the last two bits (something.com)... the preceeding stuff can be set up to be anything really... Notice that the domains on the dslreports page are not microsoft.com but something entirely different...
