hi, i need help from anyone. i am getting a new system - AMD Duron (of course!!) and was wondering whether i should get a tnt2 pro or geforce mx. the thing is that i don't really play FPS games, but rather games like diablo 2, C&C Red Alert 2, and other strategy games.
should i save a few bucks and spend on othe components?
will the tnt2 pro affect the graphic quality as compared to the geforece mx?
thanks for the help!!

If you're not doing a lot of 3d then just about any newer card out there should do. Just make sure it's got solid drivers and hardware.

On other hand, MX is still a pretty good deal for price and if you want to play a game that uses 3d in the future (there are non-fps that do use it some) you'll be able to do it without worry.

Beleive you could still use 3D performance for your games. And thik of the future. The MX is a better investment.

i would get a ddr geforce card before i'd get a gf2 mx. they get better performance even though they run a little hotter than the castrated mx card.

they're even priced somewhat closely.

Money spent on features you don't use is a waste. However, you should consider that not just FPSs use 3D accelleration. Homeworld, for example is an RTS that uses 3D.
