tv-in card

I just recieved an old (purchased about 4 years ago) STB tv-in card from a friend. I'm also planning on buying a new 3D card soon. Will the old tv card give me the best cable reception possible, or will a new 3D card with tv-in give better quality than the old standalone tv card?

I love mine, it supports higher resolution than my cable-provider does, so the TV reception is the best possible. Go with the latest drivers and Visual Reality interface from 3dfx.com (STB's new website-let's see how long they can hang on to that name!)-it works great and has additional features (like volume/channel control with the directional arrows)
