Had the extended roaming option enabled on my phone.
Between Dorion and Hawkesbury along the shores of the ottawa River (both
shores), there is fairly solid coverage, although in some spots only 2 bars).
There is solid coverage in the small town of Hudson, where with Fido,
even though it was on the map, there was no coverage (mountain between
transmitter alongside highway 40 and the town).
Next month, I'll remove the extended coverage and see if there is
service in Hudson.
And I know of a few spots north of montreal that were not on the Fido
coverage, but where, if you were at the right place, you have good
enough signal. That will be a good sign of how well the
engineers/accountants designed which Rogers antennas are allowed to
serve Fido customers and which can't.
Since the Fido maps don't provide Rogers' 1900 coverage (just combined
1900 and 850), that map is useless to most Fido customers who can't use
850. So it is a trial and error thing.
