Just curious to see what you think about the gameplay of Red Baron, from any
owners or people who remember playing the game back in the day. Cockpit or
upright.

Personally I remember playing the game and liking it but don't have real
fond memeories of it. Would love to play it again though.

I have an upright sitting right next to my upright Battlezone.

I like the gameplay. It gets pretty hard the better you do, and it is
very hard to master.

Having the upright Battlezone right next to it adds to the charm
.........

I also have a Red Baron and Battlezone (and Asteroids) next to each
other in my game room. Red Baron is fun to play, but I honestly don't
play it very often. If you have the "self adjusting difficulty"
feature turned on, gameplay will challenge you and keep you coming
back for more.

I am fonder of Battlezone than of Red Baron, though. As Bruce said,
having both of them side by side is very cool to see.

This was a game that I couldn't wait to play again. I loved it back in the
day. For me this is one game that did not hold up to the test of time.
There really isn't much altitude change and for the most part you fly in one
direction with the planes just popping up in front of you. It feels more
like driving on the ground than flying. I would make sure you really
really want one before getting it. Play it in mame (which of course is not
as good as the real thing) and that might help you decide. The game does
look cool though (especially the sit down)
