I've decided on the Asus V7700 Deluxe over the Radeon but I am not sure if I should be concern about any problems that I might encounter with my existing system.
P3 450
Asus P299 MB
256 M 133 ram
SB 64AWE
Yamaha 8424 SCSI CDRW
60 gig Maxtor.
I've visited the asus site and at the bottom it says:
"Warning: Because GeForce2 GTSTM DDR GPU consumes a lot of power, as a result, do not use AGP-V7700 Deluxe with the mainboard which AGP power is provided by linear regulator"
Should I be concern about this? and has anyone worked with the Asus p299 Mb with GF2 cards?
I would contact Asus on that one. Im sure they would be about the only people to know about that one. If im not mistaken that board is a BX chipset and availible in a dual chip layout. So im sure that Asus made it able to support lots of power threw the board for two cpus. However, its always safer to check first.
