This current HP laptop with a 7690m XT with dual switchable graphics freezes on me every couple of hours or so. I've tried everything, updating the bios, doing a fresh, non-recovery install of Windows 7, used every possible driver for the card known to man (AMD 12.1-12.10, Hp drivers, even leshcat), but no matter, it always has this freezing problem. It happens most when I'm on Youtube or playing BF3, but rarely happens when playing League of Legends. I would like to think it's the drivers messing up in Switchable Graphics somewhere, but I've set it to fixed mode in the bios, so I don't understand why it would even try to switch in the first place. It's not heat, the card rarely gets up to even 80c, which is no where close enough to cause enough heat to damage it. It would BSOD before the bios update, but now it just either hangs frozen forever or becomes unfrozen after roughly 10 seconds of mashing Ctrl-Alt-Del and says that my AMD driver has stopped working. I called HP's customer support and they basically told me that if I wanted technical support, I had to pay for it, despite still having factory warranty. I don't see any options I have except to restore to factory settings and sell to some poor unsuspecting soul. Please help.
