I have a friend who is trying to set up his wireless network. He has a
dlink DI 514 router and all he wants to do is connect another computer to
share his cable internet access. The very first thing that he tried to do
(go to 192.168.0.1) to use the configuration wizard gives him a 401 error
message. He tried re-setting the router but that didn't work.

Anyone?

try to connect via wired ethernet first. Then, once it works that way, swap
to wireless.
