Put on the extended coverage option and am happy to say that a 1900mhz phone
will work nicely between the québec ontario at Lancaster all the way up to
Hawkesbury and east to rigaud.

Since the fido maps don't differentiate between 1900 and 850, it is quite hard
to know where Fido customers will actually get coverage at 1900.

It is a real shame though that Rogers is wrecking long distance costs since
usually any roaming incurs long distance.

BTW, in that area, the towers are quite high and visible from afar. There are
towers near lancaster to cover the 401, at Alexendria (to cover the Via tracks
to Ottawa) and near Vankleek Hill to cover parts of Hawkesbury and the 417
highway to Ottawa. Not sure if they are Rogers/Bell or combined though. It
would take someone like Steve Punter to know just by looking at the towers...
