What to Buy?

Hi All,
I am in the process of building my first computer and I'm looking for opinions on which graphics card to use. System is at this point: Athlon 1.1 GH, Asus A7V, 300w power supply, Maxtor 40G @7200. Thanks in advance for any and all help.

Hobbit wont get to me i have a ATi radeon w/ Brand New Drivers out today.

but you are right because Geforce 2 Ultras are available for about $400 now.

I got my Radeon 64mb DDR Vivo card for $215. its even less now i bet, go look at pricewatch.com for great prices.

I had it with Hobbit. that guy seems to be just looking for pitty, not solutions. he needs a bitch session with some old divorced bitter women.

I got the radeon to work perfectly under windows ME after a bit of looking and downloading of new dirvers for, the card, the VIA chipset and directx 8.

my stats:
PIII 750
Asus P3v4x
160mb system ram
readeon 64mb DDR
Maxtor HD
bla bla bla

you need to figure out what you want your card to do. and then find the card that can do all those things for the money you are willing to spend.

but you are right because ATi RADEON AIW are available for about $300 now.

i would suggest looking around the internet for hard numbers and comparisons of the cards rather than asking people their opinions. most users here are biased one way or the other and you aren't likely to get real straight answers.

if money's not an issue i'd go for a leadtek geforce2. it's around 170$. it's going to play well and it's not going to break the bank. if you have to have the fastest go for the ultra. i also would suggest looking a www.sg3d.com they're a good company that specializes in the video market. their product descriptions are fairly in depth also.
