Can't set refresh rates

Hi Folks,
GEForce MX2
Old Acer 33s. According to all the information I have it can handle the following resolutions and refresh rates:
640X480@70 Hz
640X400@70 Hz
800X600@56 Hz
1024X768@50Hz (interlaced)

I don't care about 1024X768 but I do want 800X600. I've never had a problem with this before.
From what I can tell, the NVidia drivers are forcing 60 Hz in all resolution which causes my screen to be messed up in anything above 640X480.
I've searche dthe registry and can't seem to figure out where this si stroed. PowerStrip allows me to set the proper rates but only in Windows and not DirectX and OpenGL. Somehow the resolution 756X560 got in there.

How can I clear out the registry of all driver AND monitor info and start from scratch?
Any help is very much appreciated.

ALL problems have been solved.
I have to edit the .inf for the drivers and add 56 Hz in there.
I then had to go into the Registry for the current mode and for other modes and ensure 56 Hz was set.
No other tricks like Powerstrip or HZtool worked.
Monitor is not PnP.
