Refresh rate HELP

Hiya,

I just got the SONY G400 19inch. It is showing my refresh rate at 1280 X 1240 or something in that area and the refresh rate is showing at 60. I cannot make it 85 like the monitor suggests. My video card is the Hercules Geforce 2 GTS 64MB card. The only options I have for Refresh rate are Optimial, and adapter default. Nothing else shows up. What do I do.

Gee, it should run at full refresh for Optimal setting if you have your monitor detected.

How can I tell what my current refresh rate is? The monitor has a help feature that says that I should have it set to 1280x1240 @ 85 and then it says that my current settings are 1280x1240 @60

First of all, in the display settings panel, make sure your monitor is the one listed, or it's been detected as a "plug and play" monitor. Then, go into advanced settings and set it to "optimal". If that doesn't work for you, you can use a tweak utility like powerdesk to set it any way you like. BTW, what's wrong with 60?
