AGP4 on old boards?

I want to add some more graphicspower to my PC. However I am still using an ABIT LX6 (which AFIK supports AGP1 and 2).
Can I use an AGP4 card? Will it work?

Your system could hang or freeze using a 4X card.
I suggest getting a GF2MX from Guillemot or Asus, they are AGP2X compatible.
I run the Guillemot on my P2B and it works very well under UT. I've got other problems with UT, but nothing that concerns the GF2MX.

I say go with the GF2MX or with the GeForce 256 DDR from Asus, but I believe this last one's a bit more expensive.

They're usually backward compatible.
