I went to delete my old saves in microsoft word 6.0a. How exactly can I do this? I have windows xp.

I tried to highlight some saved documents and right click my mouse to see if I can select "delete" but nothing appears when I right click my mouse. I tried pressing "delete" on my keyboard nothing happens. I looked in "program files" and can't figure out what to do or where to go.

try running a search with the either the file name and/or the word extension in the search. That will show you where the files are at. goto that directory and delete the files.
