I am just curious how my laptop compares to any other laptops out there? I added $280 in after factory parts and sold the old parts for $115. Let me know what you guys all think.

I honestly put so much time into researching my new computer. It now boots in win 8 in 8 seconds and everything is so fast. Looking at the dell website http://www.dell.com/ca/p/alienware-m14x-r2/pd.aspx?oc=NAM14X2_DD_1E (This is on sale and the best deal you can get as well) and I paid under that. Is it the lights. look or name that makes people buy them?

I think it's a brand thing. The younger guy's i know seem to think if it says alienware it's the best! :pt1cable: I do not understand why though.

If you payed less i think you really scored your laptop is kick ass imo. :D

Lights, build quality, sometimes components available.

Alienwares aren't bad laptops at all, I've reviewed every single one in the lineup. Actually got my M17x R3 because I just wasn't impressed with any of the other 17"ers available at the time.

That is fair. And they are a good laptop but quite pricey compared to what you could get elsewhere providing there are decent choices of course
