Asus trouble shoot

hello i am having probelms with my asus laptop model X54C.
The screen has frozen. The mouse does not work. i cannot shut down any pages or restart my pc. I have used a remote mouse .the curser moves around but it wont do anything else. Can u help me with this probelm please?

I would try the laptop in windows safe mode first to see if it is a driver problem causing the laptop to lock up keep pressing F8 just before windows goes to load.
If it works ok without freezing, then It is likely down to a driver gone wrong. Also do a check for any viruses and any malware on the laptop as this can also be a cause.
