Changed graphics card, now pc freezes or reboots

I have a three year old PII 266 with 64 MB Ram. Recently I decided to upgrade some of the components since I could not afford a new PC. I bought a Dimaond Viper II and immediatelly the PC would freeze mainly in 3D games but some times while in windows too (not too often). Last week I added a DVD-ROM\CD-RW drive and immediatelly the PC either freezes or reboots by itself every ten minutes. Any ideas????

you are right a little knowledge is a dangerous thing....

It was an overheating problem. I added a fan to cool the graphics card and it works fine.....
