I have some programs loading when Windows XP Home starts up and the icons
are suppose to show in the taskbar notification area. However, not all of
them do show in the notification area. In different cases I will have
different ones show and some that never will show. The interesting part is
that all the programs load when Windows starts and I know that since they
are listed in the processes tab of task manager.I have the notification area
set to where it will show all icons by having the option to hide them
disabled. My last setup had no problems with showing icons, yet my fresh
install has problems showing all of them. I never had any problems like this
before and I find it quite annoying since I actually use those icons. Does
anyone have any suggestions or fixes in mind?

Disabling the service worked but I sware that I had that service installed
and running without problems of any sort in my last install of Windows XP.
That was last week when I did a fresh install of Windows XP so nothing
should of been overly different as far as updates go from this install and
the last one.
Thanks for the link anyway.

I just found out today after losing some of my tray icons, including the
volume icon, how to fix them all very easily.
Just "log off" and "log back on" and all your startup icons are restored. I
know, sounds too easy, but it works.
