I posted a video to show my problem, but here is a description first:
After some time in the OS, the machine shuts down automatically. I dont do anything, it can even be on idle....it shuts down. Right before this happens, I hear the fan noise starting to spin fast, and then it shuts down. (But I think this is a feature of the Sony Vaio, to give a fast fan spin just before shut down) Anyays, you will notice in the video that the machine doesnt go blank. It actually runs shut down procedures with scripts on screen and everything. If you happen to be familiar, you will notice Im running Ubuntu Linux.
I dunno if this is battery related...but....My battery is making a constant weird eletrical noise. If I unplug the power conector, the noise stops. If I plug in, the noise starts. Moreover, the battery takes more than 24h to recharge. Will my probelm disappear if I change the battery?
In hte video I posted, I got bored of recording idle, so I started to surf the web and eventually, opened a "explorer window" and opened a jpg file. It may be hard to notice, but thats what I was doing just before the crazy shut down, simply viewing a pic. I did not hit anything by accident, in case you are wondering.
Video below. I posted the whole video unedited, from booting of the machine to automatical shut down. But you can skip to 6:00, and simply watch the shut down.
