Just upgraded to windows 7, ethernet cable not recognized

Hi, I just upgraded to Windows 7 Home Edition, and it isnt recognizing that i have an ethernet cable plugged in. I was using the internet fine on windows xp earlier this morning, but now it doesnt work. I probably have to enable something, and have looked for solutions but havent found anything. Any advice would be helpful, and if you need any info i will reply asap if it can help you answer my question.

You will need to download the Lan driver from the manufacturer of your motherboard or Ethernet card.

Obviously you will need to do this on a pc with internet working and save it to a thumb drive to transfer it over.

i dont know what motherboard i have, it is a gigabyte, that i know for sure, but not the model. i looked on their site, but couldnt find drivers for that mobo

the nic card i have says nvidia nforce networking controller. any idea where i could download these drivers? that would be very apprecitated. thanks
