ATI Radeon MAXX

The GPU specs say they can do it
but when/if they will do it is the question
it would definitly show the GTS Ultra a thing
or two, maybe even the NV20

Re: ATI Radeon MAXX [re: QuantumDTN]

can't find the url
but the reason they haven't enabled
"Alternate Frame Rendering" on radeons
is that it takes 2 irq's

very irqsome indeed

I would gladly free up all irq's
to see a Radeon MAXXed out

Update!!

I just found this at:
http://www.rivastation.com/comdex-ati_e.htm

RS: What has happened to the RADEON MAXX? Weren't there originally plans for this card?

Martin Traute: Despite rumors to the contrary, the RADEON MAXX has not been cancelled. However, there will not be such a version using the current RADEON core. Instead, we plan on offering it with its successor (RADEON2). The reasons are technical, as we are having trouble with the bridge for the two cores. So far it only runs stable at AGP 2x. We want a card of this format and caliber to be available with full AGP 4x support, however. It's looking very promising, though and we are very confident."

The question becomes now, when is the RadeonII going to be release and subsequent Radeon II Max? nVidia will have a problem retaining their high end game FPS crown with a RadeonII max. Conjecture? Yes. Reality is usually more stranger than fiction too.

And it will be way cheaper than the Geforce3, even taking into account it will need twice the memory.
