We are trying to install Computer Associates Etrust 7.0 to a new xp pc. We
have the remote install feature and when we try to install it we get a failed
installation, access denied. We verify the login credentials through the
remote install program before we try the install. The pc shows that the
remote install service loads and starts. It then shows it stopping almost
immediately. I have turned off the firewall and had enabled file and print
sharing within the firewall prior to that.

Has anyone had issues with this?

Thanks.

I had Computer Associates eTrust 7.0 installed on three PCs and when the
trial ran out I switched to Avast. In each case the day before eTrust
expired I updated and ran a full system scan and each time it came up clean.
On installing Avast each machine was found to contain Virus that eTrust had
missed. Whilst I am in no position to offer any guarantees concerning Avast
it would certainly appear to be more effective than eTrust!
