Out of curiousity, how do these new hidden surface functions interact with diffraction, and transparent or translucent surfaces? It would seem, although I am NO programmer, that you could run into difficulties if a surface was assumed to be "hidden" and was in fact not due to some special surface that was "hiding" it. My initial thought was a glass surface whereby you might see a reflection of something on it (yourself for instance) as well as any surfaces behind it.

Am I completely off base on this? (Not very far-fetched for sure)

I see your point, and it makes sense. But you'd have to figure that they'd already thought of things like this and designed the hardware to account for it. **shrug**

I guess the proof will be in the pudding, so to speak. :)
