These two computers are almost the same, so it may just come down to the brand.
The HP has 3 USB 3.0, 1 USB 2.0, VGA, SD, MMC, 15.6" HD BrightView LED, Intel® HD Graphics 3000, 640GB (5400RPM) SATA, Island-style full-size keyboard, 10/100/100 Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11b/g/n, and no cache memory.
The Toshiba has 2 USB 3.0, 1 USB 2.0, SD, SDHC, SDXC, miniSD, micro SD, Multi Media Card, Mobile Intel® HD graphics, 750GB (5400RPM) SATA, Premium keyboard, 10/100 Ethernet, Wireless LAN 802.11b/g/n WLAN, 3MB cache, and seems to be a larger computer.
Anything I didn't mention is the same between the two. I consider a computer to be an investment and do not want to replace it anytime soon.
