I currently have a dedicated Mortal Kombat machine and the color on the
monitor is not as "crisp" as my newer machines. The color is not horrible,
but compared to my newer machines you can see the red is a little dull and
the white is a little fuzzy. Besides that it is great. No burn in, lines,
or anything of that nature.
My question is this problem something a Cap Kit would fix? If so, then how
difficult are they to install and where can you get them? If a cap kit is
not recommended, then what else are my options?

I would try adjusting the monitor using the pots in the back before I
would try a cap kit. Doing a cap kit isn't too difficult provided you
know how to solder alright. I would strongly suggest getting a solder
removal tool or some copper braid, that's for sure.
Just do some searching and you should come up with some instructions on
how to do a cap kit, including how to discharge the monitor.

Thanks for the help. I adjusted the posts on the front and back and got it
as good as I could. I am pretty good with soldering, so that should not be
too bad. I was also wondering if I could just replace the part I would be
capping? Is this a part that would be swappable from the same monitor?
What is a cap kit? Is that just replacing the capacitors? Can you cause
damage somehow during soldering? Please let me know. I did not find any
good websites on discharging a monitor, so any help there would be
appreciated.

My friends MK had a similar look to it. The monitor just needed to be
degaussed (with a coil tool for example or just a magnet). If you go to the
self-test and put on the Red monitor pattern for example, if the screen is
not all red and just one area is discolored, then that is probably the
problem with the Gaussing....
Might also be the caps though.
