3d Mark 2001 Roots Donkeys ASS

It's a load of bulshit. i got 2099. I dont care about the mark, but the whole damn thing chuged away. I droped down to 16 bit and it gained anouther 10 fps Wooohoo i am in double didgits numbers 16fps occasional 35. And it looks so bad in 16 bit aswell.

I mean i am embaraced to run it on my computer.

before you tell me to get a better PC
I have a
ASUS A7V133A mobo and 1.2Ghz Athlon C chip 266fsb. 64mg GeForce 256 and overclocked like Hell. 390 SDRAM 143Mhz

Old 2D Mark even the TNT2 m64 users could run and enjoy the nice smooth graphics on low detail tests. i was something to be proud off.. this just spits out gerkey garbage at you. And when GTS's chug away thats not right.

I mean a step up form that is an Ultra and they dont perfom much better then the GTS's. Ge Well lets just all wait a month or so and go get a GeForce 3 maybe it'll work then. Hmm they are only what $1000

The animations in this 3d Mark are very bad aswell. Man what a load of crap. And where are the comparisons? How can they compare High detail to Low detail when they are rendering difference scenes? er caugh.. bullshit

hey i know maybe i will go back to 640x480 in 32 bit so it would look 1/2 desent. Ya thats it just like the good ol day.. remember Quake 1 and your 486's

Matrix (lobby) scene was crap... hey waita go with those charecter animations. The Monster truck was just plain strange... my GeForce diden't support 4 of the 16 tests so i diden't even see the Forest.

this bites

One good note tho.. the demo wasent 1/2 bad. it ran pretty well with the defaults, untill you got to the forest that is. And the music was good. Still havent figured out why the faded it in and out so much.

Scale 1-10 (10 being best)
3D Mark 2001 gets a 4 from me.

I was floored watching the demo, the Matrix scene was just awesome not to mention the nature scene in the demo. Everything ran pretty smooth except the high polygon test. As far as I see it 3dMark2001 blows away 3dMark2000.

Yeah- that nature benchmark was something else huh? I bet it flies on the GeForce3. Like I said earlier, that's pretty damn close to realistic as I've ever seen.

3D Mark 2001 is much tougher on CPU than the previous one, my guess is that they made it for the Geforce 3 (probably the only hardware able to play Game 4). I used to get scores a bit above 7000 On my GF2 GTS and yesterday I got a big 2828 on 3DM2001! I also fumbled on a GF3 scoe on www.hardware.fr, it was about 5800-5900 so you see it is "normal" to get low scores on the new 3DM2001.

===== Correction =====
The score was 5288 and here is the system's config
ASUSTeK A7V133 - Chipset KT133A
- AMD Athlon 1.2 GHz @ 1.4 GHz bus 133
- 512 Mo de SDRAM PC133
- Hercules GeForce3 / Detonator 10.80

Most likely drivers or an AGP problem. Make sure your video card isn't sharing an IRQ with something else (PCI Holding is OK). Also, see that AGP is running at least 2X (actually 4X isn't even worth the effort). For Detonators try 6.50. Below is a good place to get them.

you can do a lot better.

My score for 3DMark2001 was 2280 and I only have a Duron and a Geforce256 SDR.

3dMark2001 default benchmarh with triple buffer option chosen 3386 in W2K. I was surprise since W2k beats my WinMe scores. Radeon 64 ViVo Retail overclocked to 198core/198mem on an IWILL KK266 650@866 thunderbird.

Vi - Video In and Vo - Video Out. This motherboard and the Radeon works great together. Most stablest computer I've ever owned. I think everyone should also consider the KyroII in Hercules new upcoming card 3d Prophet 4500. In the Serious Sam Benchmarks it blew away everybody including the GeForce2 Ultra's. Serious Sam may be the next QuakeIII game. Check out the review at AnAndTech, I hope Tom does one as well.

I read the review. I didn't recall it beating Ultras in any of the tests but that I can recheck. I was impressed by the $149 retail price which will hopefully lead to some very attractive street prices. When was the 3D Prophet 4500 to become available? I don't see it on Pricewatch, now.

Here the link for the KyroII shinning in the Serious Sam tests:

Sharky also did a review:

The 3d Prophet 4500 didn't do to well in 3dMark2001 but then the drivers I am sure will improve. Surpose to be available at the end of this month.

3DMark 2001 scores aren't comparible to to 3DMark 2001 scores. So if only get a 21xx score on 3DMark 2001 with a 32MB Geforce imagine what someone with at 16MB TNT2 Vanta gets. So the lower score in 3Dmark 2001 doesn't mean your video card went to [-peep-] over night, just that if you want to play games at 100FPS a year from now u are going to have to upgrade.
