Hi all,

recently I have been getting this ’delayed write failed’ (see
image below) message popping up at random times, usually when browsing
and occaisonally at start up and when doing virus scans. Ive done all
the usual spyware and virus scans, even tried a defrag and it still
happens. I’ve even gona as far at to try different ide cables but
that made no difference either.

Has anyone else came across this and can explain whats happening?

My pc is a stand alone unit and not connected to a network.

Cheers

This image is from when it happened at startup.

Delayed write failed basically means the processor/memory is getting bottled
up,the input exceeds the output.Try opening system
properties,advanced,perfor-
mance, virtual memory, change button, select "Let windows manage" then click
set 2X,close out,a restart should be prompted. You can get more info from
article#555223 and #99768 from microsoft.com

I would start by doing a disk cleanup and deleting all temp files.
After that, run scandisk and then defrag your drive.
