PXE-M0F: Exiting PXE ROM

December 29, 2012 10:55:41 PM

Just had my hard drive replaced. When re-installing windows 7 Home Premium, the computer would shut down each time a certain update started running. To avoid this problem, the person fixing my computer set it up so that this particular update would be ignored. My computer seemed to be working fine when I first got it home, but then as I went to shut it down, windows started installing updates. I do not know if this is really related to my problem or just a coincidence, but the next time I turned my computer on I received the following message: PXE-E61: Media test failure, check cable. PXE-M0F: Exiting PXE ROM
Operating System cannot be found

I have been told by the company that replaced my hard drive that Windows has come out with an update that my computer is simply not compatible with and I may just need to get another computer. I find this hard to believe but would like another opinion. I have a Dell XPS that is only two years old. Please tell me this can be fixed...
