Riva TNT2 m64 V Voodoo 3 (2000)

Can any one tell me why my my mates Voodoo 3(2000) PCI, with a duron 650, 264mb ram, chaintech 7AJA is a lot faster than my Riva TNT2 M64 AGP, Duron 800, 128mb ram, K7vza. I am annoyed and very puzzled.

The above is true but also the M64 chip has a 64 bit memory bus instead of a 128 bit memory bus .So only half as much data is transfered per clock cycle.

exactly, the M64 chip is really really bad...whereas the voodoo is only really bad..

plus he might be running in glide mode.. which means his gfx card will tun a hell of a lot smoother than yrs

Has anyone got any thing possitive to say about the M64.

So whats the best card to buy for the £40 mark? (im a poor student)

what detail level is it in? resoulution? game? just because you have enough RAM to meet the sys requirements doesnt mean itll run smoothly (i have 96mb and a 350mhz processor and games that require 250-300mhz and 64mb ram run slower than hell). you ought to double your ram (they have 128mb for $49 at amazon last time i checked). aslo, voodoo 3 is known for its framerates it sacrifices some features to get better ones.
