Win 7 performance test??

Ive been reading how some people run a program specifically for win 7 about the performance of their comp and it breaks it down like "the weakest component is the hard drive" or something like that. And on top of that it gives you a rating out of 10 example "your windows rating is 7" does anyone know what im talking about? how do I run that on my computer
btw, i do have windows 7 64 bit

Open Control Panel, choose System and Security, under the system icon you will see "Check the Windows Experiance Index" in blue, click on it.

You could also go to Start->Computer->System Properties and look for the Windows Experience Index score.

Max possible score is 7.9, so 5.5 is not bad. What's your lowest item?

5.5 is fine. I've got a 12GB Core i7 920 system with an Intel SSD and my score is only 3.7...

I'm not a gamer and I wanted as quiet a system as possible, so I went for a simple passively-cooled graphics card and that's what keeps my rating low.

btw i have only 2gb ram at this time would it be smarter/faster to upgrade to 4gb ram or a SSD ?

my apologies my lowest is My ram 5.5 guess i will upgrade that instead

my lowest is 5.9 and that is with raid 0 sammys the rest of my system is i7 930 #@4.3 6GB ddr3 1600 5870 so everythign else is at or just below 7.9
