thx for the reply

i tried using bootcft /rebuild and it required me to run chkdsk \p...
but was unable to fully run chkdsk...stuck at 25% and it starts to show
errors...same goes bootcft /add........

Go to the hard drive manufacturer's web site and download their free
diagnostic test utility. Run that to check out the hard drive.

If the drive itself is defective then it is probably pointless to
continue trying to correct the data structure problems and we should
be working towards recovering any important data from the drive and
saving it for transfer to the replacement hard drive.
